- 2020 Family Mindfulness Sessions in West Berkshire;
A wonderful opportunity for children and parents/carers to spend peaceful time together, reconnecting and sharing the exploration of simple and enjoyable mindful practices for our wellbeing.
We will play with a mixture of grounding and centring mindful movement, yoga postures, breathing and sensory exercises, relaxation and self calming techniques, and also get creative with a different craft activity in each session. We will also have a go at mindful eating with a provided snack (allergies will be asked for upon booking).
These sessions have proven particularly beneficial for sensitive children who can often struggle with the hustle and bustle of modern life; they may often experience overstimulation and find it difficult to switch off and relax. When they become overwhelmed their strong emotions can also be alarming for themselves and those around them.
Our time together here will offer a chance to practice self calming, grounding and self expressive pastimes which can result in less reactive behaviour generally and also arm our brilliant beings with tools that they can use when they feel themselves slipping into that uncontrollable, reactionary state in the future. Practice is the key!
Our location could not be better in which to support this nurturing time too. The newly, and beautifully, renovated Pavilion at Wasing Park RG7 4LY is accessibly situated in the West Berkshire countryside between Reading and Newbury, surrounded by open sky, greenery and usually some friendly sheep! The space is airy, light and comfortable with every convenience we could ask for including under floor heating and free onsite parking.

For: children aged 6-12yrs and their grown up/s.
Price: £15 per person with discounts for groups of 4 or more.
These sessions are stand alone sessions so you are free to book as many or as few as suits you. Whilst the content of each session will vary, there may be some repetition as this helps embed healthy habits of course. Also, Sarah has trained to teach yoga to children only, so respectfully asks adults participating in these elements of the sessions to take full responsibility for their own physical wellbeing, thank you.

- SCHOOLS, HOME ED. GROUPS and PRE-SCHOOLS
As Brilliant Beings I can offer mindfulness,yoga and peer-to-peer massage classes, or a mixture of all or some of these, in educational settings to children between the ages of 2 to 16.
I am also happy to offer mindfulness and relaxation sessions for the adults working with children in various settings (during or out of school hours) so that they can de-stress and learn to feel the benefits of mindful practice for themselves.
Whilst based in West Berkshire, I am happy to consider travelling further afield.
I am also delighted to be working with the innovative charity Inside Out for Children to help primary schools embed well being into their daily lives. Initiated by magical days out at Checkendon Equestrian Centre, Berkshire, teachers and pupils start to explore Inside Out’s 5 keys to happiness; Look Inside, Move Outside, Be Kind, Share More and Be Curious.
I am very happy to offer one to one sessions either in your child’s familiar home environment or in a cosy wooden yoga studio in Tilehurst, Reading. Alongside tailoring a session to suit your child’s individual needs and providing you with information sheets to help you practice together after your session, I love to write calming and personal guided visualisations to help them relax and calm down ready for sleep.
If there is a small group of friends interested in their children being introduced to mindfulness, private sessions for up to 5 children can also be arranged to spread cost. These can take place in one of the participants homes or in one of a few nurturing spaces we can hire around Berkshire.
